Welcome to the SynergyOS monthly newsletter for August 2024.

This month, we have focused on enhancing folder management and custom metadata options, driven by feedback from our users. Below are the key updates for August.

Folder Management: Copy Permissions on Duplicated Folders

We've introduced an option to include custom folder permissions when duplicating or copying folders. In the confirmation dialog, a new checkbox allows you to choose whether to carry over both cascade and non-cascade permissions to the new folder. This makes it easier to maintain consistent access control when replicating folder structures, saving time on reconfiguring permissions.

Permissions in Templates

Permissions have now been added to template folders. When inserting folders from a template, you can apply custom permissions, ensuring the right access levels are pre-configured for your team. This is especially helpful for automating folder setups in project-based workflows, ensuring that templates provide not just structure but also the correct access controls from the outset.

Custom Metadata Objects for All Items

We've added the ability to attach complex custom metadata to any item within SynergyOS. This new functionality allows for more advanced metadata management, fulfilling the specific needs of customers who require detailed metadata handling across their files, folders, and other content. Whether you're working with documents, notes, or projects, you can now define metadata structures tailored to your organization’s unique requirements, enhancing searchability and organization.

As we move into the final part of the year, we continue our work on a comprehensive email and calendar client within SynergyOS, aimed at replacing traditional tools like Outlook or Gmail.

We invite you to share your thoughts on how you currently manage emails and calendars and how we can improve your workflow within SynergyOS.
